If buying a Resista®-elm the buyer should be absolutely safe that the tree he buys entirely corresponds to the variety. Therefore no grafted Resista®-elms are produced. All Resista®- elms grow on their own roots. Therefore all young plants for Europe are produced in Darmstadt/Germany by cuttings. As soon as they have reached a minimum size of 6-7 cm an electronic transponder is implnated.

Only licensed partner nurseries have access to these plants for further cultivation. After two more years they are ready for the market. The size now is 14-16 cm. At this stage they will be sold to the final customers but also to other nurseries.

With the american breeder at Wisconsin University represented by the Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation (WARF) this concept had been developed. This foundation receives its royalty at the moment of the licensed nursery to their buyer.

The buyer should always have a competent address in case he has questions with regard to cultivation or eventually arising problems with diseases. He can use this web site or one of the licensed nurseries.
